Waited until no cars were coming

Yesterday's rain persisted overnight, even becoming heavier. We certainly need the rain as the storage lakes for the city are running very low. I left for work five minutes earlier than usual as it was briefly not raining, and was entering the hospital grounds when the first spots of rain started again. The day was a mixture of real rain and just being dreich. Home time came and it was not raining.

Through the domain after exiting the hospital grounds, and I saw four geese on the top of a stone wall on the opposite side of the road. All showing no inclination to jump down. A couple of cars stopped (one each way) while I was fumbling with the wee Canon, and two geese leapt down and started slowly across the road. They were almost at the centre of the road when the third jumped down with a flutter of wings and the three continued a slow saunter across the road.

Goose number four stayed on top of the wall. Pacing back and forth. the Cars that had stopped drove away and a couple more passed. Only when there were no cars in sight in either direction did this goose jump down.

I thought it may have been limping slightly, and its left foot does look a little different. Perhaps it had been clipped by an impatient driver and was therefore more hesitant. Or perhaps just natually cautious.
