~My Children~

In the center, a once ancient and majestic Saguaro cactus.
Long passed it glory days, reduced to just abstract ribs.
Surrounding it are the offspring of its more virile youth.
The old patriarch was their age over a hundred years ago.
And the offspring are well into their century as well.
There is beauty in youth and a vitality that is very evident.
But age has its beauty too, mixed with wisdom and grace.
Learn well my children, for you will grow timeworn also.
But don't be distressed, for with age comes honor and respect.
