Coffee and Street Art

Fellow Blipper 13South tempted me with her image of the elephants in Boscombe. So this morning we walked along the shaded back streets, to check them out (I’m heat intolerant).

Lovely walk, via Boscombe Gardens, to avoid the day trippers, and then up to the shopping precinct (early, not too busy - all but food shops and a couple of takeaways closed.

On the way we espied a couple of new murals in Roumelia Lane (narrow road, not much happens there, already has 2 huge murals up at the parking lot at the back of Iceland).

Then to the magnificent elephants which bave a history in Boscombe (see link below). The work of my favourite local street artist Tech Moon. Shown in extras together with the 2 new ones mentioned earlier.

About to head back, realised Boscanova was serving socially distanced take away coffee. Irresistible, so while I perched on a raised flower bed, Mr B ordered two Flat Whites. I then paid contactlessly. Seemed pretty safe, then realised the cup would have been ‘handled’. So perhaps not a wise move, and not to be repeated for a while.

Bedlam at the beach. Newspapers full of images of here and other resorts. We didn’t go down but have on authority it was complete madness. Either we will have now achieved herd immunity, or the virus will fade away or there will be a huge spike

The Covid R Number is 0.7 to 1, Not as encouraging as I would like. Wonder what will happen when the next round of relaxation of Lockdown happens.

Watched the Dominic Cummings saga. Not committing myself The popular vote is split down the middle. Perhaps more will come out. Taken at face value, I sympathise with him. But the press will continue to hound him. And his statement left a few questions.
