(S)oak in the sun

Bank holiday Monday done good. In perfect sunshine we cycled out to Fulbourn Fen with books and a few snacks. It’s known for its orchids and plant diversity in a small area and is low profile enough to be spared the hordes that visit other green areas of Cambridge. It was the first proper visit by either of us, and as we walked through this open grassy area, this massive oak tree conjured up images of African savannahs. Gugs had to pose exuberantly in front of it, from sheer excitement.

We spent several hours outside either cycling or lying in meadows and it was the perfect antidote to so much work of late.
