Today is a holiday in the US.
I live in the new hotspot in the US, the location with the most new cases.
Our area is still under stay-at-home orders.
It was a beautiful, warm, gorgeous day today and that is very unfortunate.
This morning my wonderful, safe park was overrun with idiots without masks and without sense, making no effort to stay six feet away.

It got ugly.

When you see the pictures of Americans frolicking, close to each other, mask-less, they are all real. We already make up about a third of the world's deaths, right? Expect more in the next two weeks.

Half of the Twitter calls for us to open up are coming from foreign bots - so someone is trying to kill us. (https://www.businessinsider.com/nearly-half-of-reopen-america-twitter-accounts-are-bots-report-2020-5?fbclid=IwAR0oUQ860-Yitgy8eBWs4K9nJlLp3HYZ4O9k-LbWSLsrXr_exPEQ5xNqte0) Based on our government's response, our national leaders are trying to kill us. But really, many of us are eager to throw ourselves off the cliff.

I wrote to one of my neighbors and asked if I could take pictures of them on their deck and they let me. They have a three-year boy who misses the slide terribly and has been talking about going to the pool since December. The mother pointed out that it will be hard for employers to call people back to the office while schools are still closed. My next-door neighbor is no longer expected back to work June 1, they are working from home indefinitely.

Karen took Samuel and me on a drive of town this evening and it was great. The streets were empty. All of the people had masks and most of them were wearing them, even though they were far away from other people. It was restorative. There were many COVIDIOTS in the park today, but there were many other people at home. We don't get to see them because they are home. Thank goodness you are amongst them.

In an alternate universe, far, far away, long, long ago, Karen's sister was in school and had a dance for class. Karen made her a mask. We all oohed and aahed and Karen wanted to sell the masks to see if someone who was not family would like them enough to pay for them, but I insisted I would pay!
