Lost

We’ve had a birding sort of a day.

At lunchtime the Ards Man beckoned me out to the back door to watch little bluetit fledglings flitting about and feeding on the honeysuckle plant draped over our fence. They were so little! We stood just a metre from them and watched them flutter about - so lovely!

Then I had another summons, this time to see a racing pigeon who’d been hanging around the back of the AM’s workshop for quite a few hours. Again, we were able to get very close and it seemed quite tame, but we didn’t want to frighten it so again stayed about a meter away. The AM left some birdseed out for it, just in case it simply needed a fuel stop. When he went to leave some water about 30 minutes later the pigeon was nowhere to be seen, so we reckoned the seed must have done the trick!

A very pleasant ornithological day!
