Today's the day …………………….. to be different

An absolutely gorgeous day today - blue skies all the way and for the first time in a while up here - really quite hot.  As might be expected, we've been in the garden all day working away, but not at the same thing. 

The fact is that Will and I are completely different gardeners.  He's an earth mover, wall builder, pond maker - a structural gardener.  He can cut through unwanted vegetation, dig trenches and shift stuff at a rate of knots because he sees the big picture.  Me? - I'm a rockery weeder, a saver of plants from small cuttings, a dead-header.  I'm a gardener of the small exquisite things (like the one above) - I see the detail.  And that probably explains why you rarely see us gardening together - or at least, not in the same bit of the garden. 

But we're both necessary if we want a garden that will flourish.  So I think we'll just carry on as we are ......................!
