Today's the day ....................... to hang out the washing

I don't know what I was thinking when I hung the washing out to dry this morning?

Within the hour, there was a torrential downpour, which made it wetter than it had been when I first hung it out.  I should have brought it inside at this point and draped it over the pulley, but I stubbornly hoped, like Incey-wincey spider, that - 'the sun would come out and dry up all the rain ...'  So I left it - and after the third soaking, I lost all interest in it.

Actually, I think lots of things would have got a soaking today .......................
