About to turn

Kitchen Impromptu

Another sunny day, got up to 82 degrees (28) and a bit muggy. But the evening was cool, and I zipped around in the tractor for forty five minutes or so to finish cutting the grass. The cricket chorus is growing, and there was a pretty crescent moon tonight.

Earlier today I planted nasturtium seeds and installed four pepper plants between rows of garlic, after checking online that peppers and garlic would get along. They'll end up in jars of salsa together anyway. Planted two jalapeños, a golden California Wonder, and a cute Chocolate Beauty.

A rose bush that has been gathering strength the past three or four years suddenly has burst forth with a dozen blooms. It was blocked in part by an exuberant rue plant, so I cut bundles of that away and stuck them in a vase. There's nothing planned about this blip, just a collection on the kitchen counter. Also, while I like many kinds of music, today was classical...piano concerto in the background.
