Red hot pokers!

Couldn't upload anything yesterday but it seems okay today.
A very damp day, we eventually managed to get out about 4pm and yomped round the circuit plus a bit more. This spectacular view looks down onto the plain of East Takaka. Today there's a few sheds and some sheep and geese but once there was a little community down there- homes for the marble workers and a school for their children. Still very green and the orange of the pokers makes a nice contrast I thought.

It's a long weekend here in honour of the Queen's birthday which seems bizarrely quaint and everyone is being encouraged to go on a tiki and spend local! We might hit Takaka for a coffee!
