Life after Burradoo, NSW

By MountGrace

Not perfect, but better.

A beautiful sunny, chilly autumn day with a clear blue sky. It was a perfect day to tidy up the garden. It's far from perfect but it looks a lot better. The second extra photo is evidence how much we cleared away.

We are loving these clear Covid skies and the sense of breathing in lovely fresh air. I wonder how long it will take before we can enjoy these beautiful skies without remembering what they were like just five months ago during the bushfires. The first extra photo was taken from a similar spot on 29 December. We spent days and days with skies like that. It was, of course, infinitely worse for those who had the fires at their back doors.

Even the horrors of Covid-19 have not erased the horror of living through the bushfires a few months ago. At least in one way Covid-19 is easier for those of us who didn't lose our homes because we feel safe in our own homes, which we didn't during the bushfires.
