Oh, for the wings, for the wings of a ..... gull!

I don't think a Black-headed gull was what Mendelssohn had in mind when he wrote the music and words for 'Hear My Prayer'..... he had a dove featuring in the words.

I have had a collared dove in the garden recently but it has been quite happy to sit on the shed roof or wander about under the bird feeders which are now empty thanks the the magpies and rooks.

Another scorcher of a day so I had my walk early, before church while the temperature was still bearable. I guess it will be another evening for trailing the hose round the garden.
