small elephant hawk moth

This lovely little moth is a small elephant hawk moth. It's the first visit of one to my trap this year. The lilac background is a scabious plant. 


I went out early again for a walk and it was stunning out and about. No people, great birdie soundtrack and then back home with lots of work to do.
