A management pow-wow took place today to discuss how to “cautiously return to normality”.

It was decided that all teams working within our office will be split into two tag-teams. Team A will return to work on Monday 15th for a week and Team B will go in on Monday 22nd while Team A works from home. And so on until it is felt that we can risk having all staff in the building at the same time.

If any member of staff is contacted by the Govt's new “Track & Trace” system then everyone in their tag team is to work from home for 14 days and the other team can occupy the office full time.

It sounds reasonable enough, except that our team is too small to be split in half and neither of us see any point in travelling into the office to be still working in isolation. So it has been agreed that two of us can both be in Team A and our manager will be in Team B, but he will work from home even during his “In” weeks because otherwise “solitary working” needs to be taken into consideration.

Of course the whole thing depends entirely on whether or not there is a huge spike in Covid cases following the spectacularly irresponsible behaviour of large portions of the population last weekend.
