Punctures Don’t Matter

At times today it was really difficult to concentrate on tinkering with a budget or a project management task with the shower of news about anti-racism protests, mostly in the US. Everyone needs to at the very least acknowledge differences and struggles, reflect on the systemic privileges they’ve been dealt, and take some practical actions to help and confront varying degrees of ignorance. Following the events in recent days has reinforced how much, as a white man, I do not know and will never understand completely. However I want to learn more and contribute in the right ways including by donating to Black Lives Matter and buying book recommendations such as White Fragility that can teach me more about race.

In the evening, a trip to Trumpington Meadows to lie on the grass next to this pond. The trip would have been longer but I got a puncture en route. Cycling a few miles with no air in the back tyre wasn’t much fun, but, today of all days, minor inconveniences do not matter.
