Happy Birthday HD!

This time of white nights, when it never gets dark enough here to see stars, is wonderful in many ways. Standing out in the garden to get this picture the air was filled with bird song as the dusk chorus merges into the dawn chorus.
It is also a great time to take pictures including the moon, because the contrast between the moon and rest of the (no longer dark) sky can be captured by the camera. The moon was sinking lower as we arrived home, peeping through the trees. I was surprised to see we are still two nights away from the full moon.
It was Jan's birthday today so it was day of many conversations on the phone, or via various media. It was lovely to eat our take-away with Rose, a real face-to-face chat!
