Pink Pockets

Although quite dull under a cloudy evening sky, the wild phlox makes its return to add pockets of pink in the woods. It was also windy, so up with the iso to keep the petals still. A long zoom allows for flexibility to fill the frame with bright magenta that really stands out against the darker greens.

Instead of trying to increase saturation of the purples, I decreased the greens a touch to give the impression of the flowers being more brilliant.

I like the feeling of depth in the image as light and focus dissipate, yet there's a soft glow of filtered rays on a few trucks in the distance.
