Cooling down

Another socially distanced walk in their neighborhood, during which Evan got overheated and was happy to pour a small bucket of water over his head once he was home again. (Yes, that is a garden gnome in the background.)

Today Commissioner JoAnn Hardesty asked the mayor and the police department to stop using tear gas during a pandemic and to back off using military weapons against protesters. Tonight there are said to be 20,000 people downtown in a standoff with police, and so far as I've heard, no tear gas. The police budget is up for consideration, and the protesters are demanding the city reduce spending on police. Each night the crowds are larger than they were the night before, and tonight we have a nearly-full moon as well.
