A Complex Day

This morning we pulled down some more old fence and at one stage during a lull in proceedings I wandered across to the dam looking for a possible abstract. This doesn’t really qualify but I preferred it.
Then we took the ex-fence up to the tip Katoomba Resource Recovery and Waste Management Facility and I also did a bit of food shopping.

On the way home Mr isbi suddenly said “we have a problem“. I immediately panicked as we were driving in the dark down a steep, narrow, windy road. The engine had cut out and the steering and brakes had no power assistance. Fortunately he was able to find a spot to pull over after about 300 metres.
Long story short the NRMA arrived about 45 minutes later, he couldn’t give us a lift (due to CV rules) so we rang our friend Wally who came and took us back to Blackheath for the other car while we were waiting for the tow truck to come from Penrith (over an hour away). As I said, that’s the short version.

Anyway it’s now 10:30pm and we have just finished dinner so after we go up to the neighbours to turn off his water mains at the pipeline as promised (he is in Sydney and has a leak) we’ll call it a day!

PS. The bad news is it’s a broken timing belt (expensive).
The good news is it happened after we had unloaded the 263kg of rusty fence and barbed wire :-)
