Compton Verney

We heard yesterday that Compton Verney had opened its grounds to members from this Tuesday.  So we took a drive there this morning and was pleased to find that it has.  A friendly volunteer met us on the drive and checked my membership card through the car window and then directed us to the car park asking that we park socially distanced from the next one.

Entrance through the reception was not required though the toilets attached were accessible and usable.  All very well organised.

We had a lovely walk round the lake and then the wild flower meadow.  There were very few other people there, this could be because of the deterioration of the weather, or just the fact that the opening is not well known about yet.

We are pleased we kept our Compton Verney membership going, they offered a three month extension on annual membership renewal, and will be sure to be going again during the summer.

In other news: We had a lot of birds on the feeders this morning including a greenfinch, a first for quite a while.  Whilst in the lounge I noticed him on the feeder and grabbed the camera to take a quick shot.  Normally the bird flies off just as I get the camera, this time I was just about to take the picture when he flew off.  So an in-flight greenfinch hand-held taken from the other end of the garden through a window in the extras!
