A broken sleep, the night terrors returned, fire burning within and outwith flesh that familiar sense of the weight and oppression of the surrounding air. The morning offers little in the way of relief, a little cooler, which is to say only 39 degrees, a couple of quick coffees and then out for a walk, attempting to clear the debris clinging from the dreamless night...

And you have to get out early now, this part of the year where you hide between 1100 and 1500, if you can, when the thermometer rarely, even in the dead of night, gets below 30 and the humidity clings to you like a second skin. Today it hits 40 at 0900 and remains there until 1600, broken clouds scattered around the sky, concrete collecting and radiating the unbroken sunshine...

Taking a bike and setting off up the road across Graveyard hill, hoping for some kind of sunset, a sprinkle of clouds to the north and west, warm winds blowing up from the streets below.
