Swimming hole

The sun was back after all the rain, but there was a smattering of snow on the mountains this morning.
A leisurely day but i feel tired tonight. We sauntered into Takaka this morning and had an early lunch at the Wholemeal Cafe. Excellent spanokopitta and a very good coffee indeed.
Later we meandered down to the swimming hole - now too full and too cold to swim in but looking rather nice nonetheless. You have to wander through several fields to get there, today mercifully cattle free, and each time I am intrigued by the tump in the extra. If this was in the UK or Ireland that circle of trees would signify something very ancient and interesting. In the centre are a jumble of large rocks, strange in a field of pasture. I need to do more research. Simple pleasures and ponderings.
