Taking their time

Some people go out and find flowers, birds, pretty scenes - we find different things.

As we had a parcel to collect from Penrith, we went out towards Lazonby, looking for the house that Gordon's grandmother was living in when she first got married. I am not sure we found it, but we did find:
- a lake that seemed to have been manmade, but with no purpose
- the bottle factory where they put Eden Valley water into plastic bottles with labels such as Aqua Pura - apparently they get the water from Penrith aquifer, which could be the largest underground water source in Europe
- a quarry which extracts sand and gravel
- a road that we had never been on before - Gordon loves it when he finds such a road and can fill gaps in the maps he holds in his head

None of this made very pretty pictures, but as we arrived in the village on our home we had to follow these two escapees. And the picture does show what the weather has been like today. Sunshine and showers, the vegetation looking much better for the bit of rain.
