The Fab Four

Met Julia and Tom in Liverpool today, at the Royal Albert Docks. Such a great place to spend the day, especially as the sun shone on us.

The last time I was here, I was a nine-year-old aboard a Booth Line ship, on our way to Manaus, in the Amazon.

Extras of the couple, one of the herring gulls who tried to eat our lunch, and a view of the Three Graces - the Cunard Building, the Port of Liverpool Building and the iconic Royal Liver Building behind, with the two liver birds on top; Bertie facing the city to see if the pubs are open (he must be very disappointed at the moment), and Bella facing the sea, on the lookout for any handsome sailors arriving.

Gratefuls:
- spending the day walking round such an interesting place, and Mike for all the driving, through often filthy weather
- seeing our youngest so happy with her new husband
- coming home to Sam making a Sunday roast dinner, and sampling Nutella-filled cookies that Deb and the kids had made
