Thank You For the Days ..

Interloper

There's something new every morning in the garden at the moment. Today I spotted this foxglove poking out of the foliage of an acer. It was taller than I am, and had chosen its host very well, both for support and contrast of colour.

Another recent newcomer is a very plump and glossy crow. He appears from time to time on the  grassy bank behind the house. We've had crows rearing chicks on this bank, but this one is solitary. He (I feel sure he's a he, and he has been named Mr Collins, since he has a very proud strut and wears clerical black - I've been watching the repeats of Pride and Prejudice) seems to have a working arrangement with Percy, the slayer of baby rabbits. P get first dibs and Mr C tidies up the remains. He's very hard to photograph as he's so black and shiny.

We got some interesting pictures from Kingston today. Yesterday was Duncan and Caroline's wedding anniversary, and the children cooked them dinner. They also waited at table. They must have learned a lot while on lockdown! I'll add some pictures in extras later when I've retrieved them from wherever they are hiding at the moment.
