Its a bit nurdy but I often take a raw image in the camera and tweak it in Photoshop. There isn't such thing as genuinely "Straight out of camera" shot these days because, deliberately or unwittingly, the the box in your hand (even a mobile phone) is following a set of code in delivering the picture you get and the user can set that to vivid, contrasty, whatever.
The raw file is like your negative and the jpeg is the print you get back from the chemist. 

Does it matter as long as you are happy with the look of the image you get?
Anyway, this shot of Caley at Upper Inverroy is SOOC.
