Harvesting Heat

The original heat source in our building was a warm air ducted system heated by a coal fired boiler.

I suspect it did not work very well for the 130 years or so it was in use. There is a coal fire in the vestry but that does not work either as part of the chimney runs horizontally and to the best of my knowledge there are two right angle bends and at least three other bends.

We installed air source heat pumps and they are illustrated in the thumbnail. Everywhere is heated by underfloor heating.

There is also a heat recovery ventilation system.

The Blipfoto also shows the volunteer fern that I often feature. Another appearance has been made by a red squirrel. This time, I saw it disappear around the corner.

Today is a wet day, and much colder. We have lighting on throughout as it is very dull.  All of our lighting is LED.

A day for being indoors
