Stained Glass Abstract

Another cold and wet day today. I managed a couple of hours in the garden this morning before the rain came along with my Sainsbury's delivery. I watched Joker this afternoon - Joaquin Pheonix's performance is amazing. This stained glass abstract is from the panel in my garden.

Day 88 / Day 80 of Lockdown / Day 11 of Step 2 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 151 to 41,279. The briefing was all about NHS Test & Trace with the first numbers released - a bit of a mixed bag. In its first week 8,117 people testing were referred and 5,407 provided details of their contacts, so only 2/3 unfortunately. However, 31,794 contacts were identified as a result and 85% of those (26,985) were able to be contacted and agreed to self isolate, which is excellent news. The Health Secretary reiterated that if we have symptoms it's our duty to get tested and provide details of our contacts, and if contacted to self isolate. However, he also said that per the ONS CV antibody polulation sampling, 70-80% of those testing positive had no symptoms - a bit of a problem for a T&T system to work effectively. No more news about the app.

The other news was that cancer referrals in April were down 60% from a year ago and a consultant said that didn't pick up in May. Also there were 20% fewer starting cancer treatment. Shares fall in the US after some States see rising levels of the virus.
