Day 81 – Safe Social Distancing

We went to a couple of local orienteering areas to take some pictures for our club’s website. We also tried out the app MapRun, which is electronic orienteering using a smartphone that beeps when you get within 10 metres of the defined control site to allow for satellite drift. It’s quite good but not really orienteering as the beep might not be at the control, and it does need a decent smartphone. We walked around Pilrig Park and failed to go to the 3rd control; oops. Afterwards we went down to Leith where the blip was taken. This is Lucy Poett's life-size sculpture in bronze of Sandy Irvine Robertson, founder of the Scottish Business Achievements Award Trust. It was good to see a dad and his daughter using it.
