Learning to fly

Dandie and Danny thought they'd have some flying lessons.
I'm not sure Danny has quite mastered the art of mounting - he is facing the tail!

Had a lovely couple of hours today in a friend's makeshift hide - camouflage netting over the back door of a land-rover near a moss covered stump.  Such fun seeing all the birds that came in; loads of garden birds such as blue and great tits, robin, finches, sparrows, nuthatches, but the stars of the show were the  woodpeckers. (Extra). There are 3 different families feeding apparently - not that I could really tell them apart.
A thoroughly wonderful experience.
