Jim Clark Sets A Good Example

The St Andrews and District Motor Club was wound up in the early 1989s thanks in main to the first oil crisis which impacted on motor sport in general.

Over the last few years, former members have sent me various examples of Club Badges they have come across. All designed to be mounted on badge bars or attached to radiator grills.

I particularly like the one in the thumbnail which must have been one of the very first badges ever issued.

The records and assets of the club have been stored in the cupboards of various club directors.

Sometime, I or another director will have to try and gather these together and give them to the local museums in Cupar or St Andrews.

And the title is fully explained by viewing the extra photo entered today.

Having chaired the group that procured the statue, I had already been informed about this, although the person responsible for this fun was unknown.

Now that a photograph has been published in an international motor sport magazine the world now knows. I think.
