Stripes

We harvested our garlic this morning! It’s a couple weeks early—the target date is usually July 4th—but the stalks were getting brown and falling over so it was definitely time.  It’s a pleasant task, gently forking up the dirt and then pulling up the bulbs. A good crop, nice and fat and solid; it should last us for the year.

This wall borders one side of the parking lot that hosts the Saturday Farmers’ Market. I drove the car today with my big foot! It went well and I won’t have to be dependent any more on Mr S to haul me around.
