Rose rescue!

There was a spectacular storm last evening early on. It went so dark outside that the solar powered garden lanterns came on.
Then the lightening started. An amazing display of sheet lightening and flashes jumping across clouds, followed by the rolling thunder.
The wind picked up whipping the trees around and bending the branches.
Then came a deluge hammering down to earth.
After it had begun to subside and move away the sky gradually began to clear towards the west.
Everything was dripping.
And it was a warm muggy night.
This morning I went up the garden to check the roses which had incredibly enough survived this onslaught.
I cut these two stems from two different bushes as they were bent over.
It’s threatened rain at points today, but never materialised.
So off we go into another week.
