Almost stumped

The idea for a new fence at the bottom of the garden seemed a good one for lockdown but has turned into quite a saga.

Inauspiciously the fence panels were delivered a week and a half late, therefore missing the week Martin had taken as holiday and just in time for the week of rain.

Eventually two panels went in, painfully and not perfectly, but the third and fourth were impossible due to this tree stump.  Happily our neighbour offered to help with his chainsaw but digging the stump out to a level it can be sawn off has been difficult.  The amount of 'root' underneath the visible stump was like dealing with an iceburg as you can see.

However, finally we're all ready for the chainsaw tomorrow and continuing the fence erection... at the weekend.
