Life in Canada

Youth

As large as this Snapping Turtle looks, it was actually quite small; therefore, relatively young.  It shell was also quite dark compared to the older ones who have more beige/sand coloured shells. I came upon her (guessing as the females are finding places to lay eggs now - no way was I lifting its tail!), this morning en route to who knows where.

I love a Snapper's eyes. Today I decided to take two photos to capture the eyes differently (see extra for a different view).

It is really heating up here. The humidity is climbing along with the temperature.  I am loving it...so far ;)

Take care.
