Harvest

Our first real strawberry harvest today, grabbed them before the slugs got there. I spent all afternoon pottering about; weeding, edging, hoeing, unclocheing (if that’s a word), re-netting the gooseberry bush (harder than you’d think), tying up the broad beans. And yacking with the neighbour who’s very excited to have a robin family in her hut. Watched Mrs Robin constantly nipping out and in with a beak full of bugs - the youngsters are getting top notch grub. Literally. S came by and did the watering which was great as I was flagging by then.
Only other harvest item was garlic. There’s a ton of salad ready but there’s only so much of the stuff we can eat!
