Today a round trip to Birmingham to celebrate my lovely sister in law Jill's 50th Birthday. A large gathering of family and friends and the adults at least had a most excellent time.

The highlight was Jill's mums poem read out by her sister Sue. In style part Ancient Mariner (you know all Coleridge epic) and part Pam Ayers (now theres a memory not matter how hard I try I can't suppress). We smiled a lot, laughed in equal measure and yes there was the odd moist eye too. Jill is the sweetest, kindest person you could wish to meet.

btw despite my grumpy old person reflex reaction to this scene, these boys are in reality when unplugged the loveliest set of lads and the world is safe in their hands.... if only they'd pay attention
