Young Great Spotted Woodpecker

There are at least two young Great Spotted Woodpeckers visiting our garden at the moment.  This one decided to investigate our pond and looked somewhat out of place at ground level.

I spent some time yesterday afternoon cutting the grass only to find it this morning covered with leaves brought down by strong winds and rain overnight.
