The Hippy Skippy Shakes

I spotted this small skipper butterfly on knapweed this evening when it was dull and getting cool. It wasn't going anywhere and I got lots of shots. I've decided to post an image of it vibrating its wings as I've never captured a butterfly doing this before. Butterflies are coldblooded and they vibrate their wings to increase the metabolic rate within their thoracic muscles. This warms them enabling the insect to fly. I've enjoyed listening to The Swinging Blue Jeans The Hippy Hippy Shakes while I've been typing this. :)

I've added an image of my first ringlet butterfly of 2020 to extras.
