Quod oculus meus videt

Wait for it!

The block of 6 stables where L rides have just as many swallows nests at the moment.  The evidence of fledglings in the nest is clearly seen on the floor of the stables (and sometimes on the backs of the horses); they're mightily keen not to 'poop' in their own beds!

I reckon this clutch are almost ready to fledge.  The one with its beak resolutely closed was almost out of the nest in its excitement to receive more food from the parents.

It's just as well as there are major renovations going on across the yard, with new roofs being erected for each stable block.  It looks like next year the swallows are going to have to put in extra effort to build new nests before being able to settle down to the task of laying and incubating eggs.
