The Lozarithm Lens

The Old Forge (Tuesday 23rd June 2020)

I've been taking a bit of Blip Break for the last few days (though I have been peeking at your journals), but at the moment there are two collared doves taking shelter in the cotinus, visible through the upstairs study window. I have been hiding in the study from the heat and watching them. Most of the time their heads have been obscured by leaves but I did manage a couple of shots where one beady eye was visible. A pair did hatch here a couple of years ago - I wonder if this is them?

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Ren Harvieu - Sister Morphine (recorded October 2011)
In my music magazine catch-up I have now reached January 2012's Mojo
whose cover disc consisted of soul versions of the Rolling Stones 1970 album Sticky Fingers, called Sticky Soul Fingers, and I replayed it today.
The song Sister Morphine was co-written by Marianne Faithfull who had her own personal experiences of morphine and recorded her own version for a single in 1969.
In 2011, Ren Hervieu had just spent three months in hospital with a broken back  and spoke of her experience with the drug after she had recovered from the accident earlier in the year.
