Another Fine Mess

I was reminded of Laurel and Hardy moving that Piano as Chris and I tried to manoeuvre the new worktop into place.   When the old one (soggy beyond recovery around the sink) was fitted they must have fitted the upper units and the tiling after installation.  While this made getting the old one out messy (Chris cut it in half) it made getting the new one in impossible.  This was the state of play after cutting a sliver off one end and removing some plaster from the wall .... and this was just a trial run so we could mark up for cutting the new drainer hole.   Chris wil return this evening to complete that job but we have until Thursday morning to finish, when the plumber comes to plumb in the sink and washing machine.   So with no facility in the kitchen I'm washing up in the bathroom and the chaos through the house as the work ensues is hideous.   

It will be much better when it's all done and everything that belongs in the kitchen can move there permanently :-)
