Passing the Thyme

I saw wild thyme at Gilfach yesterday but today it was a garden visit where the thyme is in full flower.    Bees and this Tortoiseshell butterfly were loving the nectar in the morning warmth and sunshine.

I was really there to sort out more of the children's stuff, thirty boxes of which were stored in a shed last winter.   After two visits, I've reduced the store to six boxes now but having taken six more home this afternoon, some of the work is just relocated!    Rain arrived after lunch, more persistent later, something the plants in the extra pic will enjoy.   The grass in which these Marsh Orchids flower regularly floods in very wet weather and the spot clearly suits them.
