View from the Shade

Today the temperature was up around 30°C, unusually warm for mid-Sweden and especially unusual in this early in the summer. Rather than working in the garden we had decided to visit Lasse and Annika in Söråker,  in the small house they have borrowed for this week. This is the view from the deck, looking down towards the sea. The sun beams down onto the deck all day but fortunately there is a large shade umbrella and a gentle breeze up from the water. At the end of the grass it is only about 20 meters down to a small sandy beach and the sea, where we spent an hour or two with Annika and the dog, Mika. The water was a bit above 20°C, which is warm for the sea, but I swam out about 100 meters and the water was only chest deep.
We'd popped in for a "fika" (snack) but ended up staying for a meal in the evening.
It was a lovely relaxed day and one of the many nice things was that the dog (see extra) is beginning to be more relaxed about us. Mika is a rescue dog and had been very nervy around us the first time they'd visited us, less so on her second visit, and this time she seemed to actually enjoy our company. It's always nice to make new friends, even canine ones.
HarlingDarling also blipped this visit.
