The View from the Top

Tonight my legs are feeling a little tired after first walking 7 km to this "mountain", and then another 7 km to get to the top of Skuleberget and down again. At 295 m high it's not exactly alpine but then we don't usually walk up it in 30°C temperatures either.
Today I was walking with Rose, who is walking the entire High Coast Trail. Rose is 73 years old and before doing this walk today she also did her "usual morning walk" in town, so she'd done 10,000 steps before we even set off. (I'd done about 400 steps.)
Our initial 7 km was the next section for her as she walks the trail from south to north. It's one of the shortest sections of this trail, and since it is so short we thought a trip up to the top of Skuleberget would be a good extra and make the day worthwhile.
When we planned this we had no idea it would be so hot, but why let the heat get in the way of a good plan.
It may be hard work getting up here but the view from the top is always wonderful on days like this.
Once we'd finished walking I drove home to pick up Harlingdarling, who is much too sensible to be out walking in this heat, and we went off to our usual swimming spot. It was so lovely to shed my sweaty clothes and leap into the cool lake water!
