The delphiniums are looking good this year. They are so deep in the shade of the overgrown hydrangea that they have been protected from the wind, rain and blazing heat that we've experienced over the last week. They have survived better than I have ...

The heat and humidity don't agree with me. But it was pleasant to sit outside this evening and feel a little breeze and enjoy the quietness. There's nothing to hear but the trees sighing and the birds chattering. 

We are now free to travel further than 5 miles. I should be feeling excited. Maybe next week.

The centres of delphiniums look like tiny bats. I'd never noticed that before.
