Day 93 – Tranquil

Today was a very unusual one, we went in the car for the first time since March 22. The reason being we had to collect our DIY from B and Q; apart from the brakes being a bit rough first off there was no obvious sign of 13 weeks of inactivity. We then went out to West Lothian to give the engine a proper run and decided to do the enchainment of the Five Sisters Bings at West Calder. Further than 5 miles in the car, but our first offence. The highest is 231 metres and has a good view over industrial West Lothian. The extra is of number 2, the highest, and number 3 from the track that goes round the bottom. In the evening we cycled down to Portobello to meet A and R and R’s boyfriend for a fish supper from the excellent and efficient St Andrews takeaway in Portobello. We ate them in Abercorn Park on a glorious warm evening before going for a wander on the prom and then the beach. The blip is the view over the Forth and even at nearly 9 in the evening people were out swimming, paddle boarding and enjoying the warmth. I have to say that the vast majority were in groups of less than 8 and were well separated, so there is hope that the proposed relaxation on travel will come on July 3.

Best large.
