Limestone Oak Fern

Gymnocarpium robertianum but don’t let that out you off.

This small to medium fern is a delightful plant which grows mainly in limestone rock crevices.
Its main areas are the Cotswolds, the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and parts of South Lakeland.
It has special protection in Illinois and Michigan.

This particular plant was grown from spores collected from ones that grow on Arnside Knott.

I was amused to find when reading about this on Google that I could buy a 400 piece jigsaw of this Fern’s leaves. It looked rather challenging. But then so did the price.
