Bluebird at Antietam

We took a drive today to the Antietam Civil War battlefield about an hour from here.  I was there last fall with Wendy but my husband hadn't been there in a while.  When we stopped at the Poffenberger Farm to view the Clara Barton Monument, there was a birdhouse attached to the fence and clearly inhabited by a bluebird family . On a nearby fence post, Papa was keeping an eye on things.

We had some fierce thunderstorms early this evening.  Usually, when it rains or storms I can sit on the porch but today, the high winds and driving rain drove me indoors.  After the rain, the temperature must have dropped 15 degrees.  It should be a pleasant night and morning tomorrow.
