Bribery

Toby loves water. Whether it's sea, loch, pond or burn he'll jump right in there. He'll break ice to get a splash in a deep puddle or gleefully play about in filthy stinking mud because it feels a bit wet (as evidenced here and here!).

Yet, when we pay a not insignificant sum to buy a dog proof paddling pool to help him cool off in the garden we struggle to get him near the thing! 

We're trying to build his confidence but so far can only get him to stay in it as long as the treats last; as soon as they're done he'll hop out and watch us suspiciously from a safe distance. Some days I really do wonder what goes on inside that big furry head of his!
